August Läpple’s manufacturing range is primarily consisting of the production of stampings and assemblies as well as of the manufacture of dies and tools and jigs and fixtures for the sheet metal industry, particularly, the motor industry in South Africa and Overseas.

A Project Planning System was designed and implemented in co-operation with management. The focus from Consiliarii’s side was on the identification of critical parts and elements in order to establish a critical path for each project. That assisted August Läpple to plan more accurately and improve their on time delivery performance.

Supreme Spring has been operating as a hot-formed spring manufacturer for over 30 years. Their factory is only 35 minutes from Johannesburg International Airport and the major metropolitan and industrial complex of Johannesburg. Their product range, for automotive applications includes leaf springs, coil springs, stabilizer bars and torsion bars. They currently supply O.E. components to BMW, Nissan, Ford, Daimler Chrysler, Mazda, Isuzu, Opel, Mitsubishi, Toyota and Volkswagen in South Africa. Their products are also exported to the USA, Australia and Europe.

Detailed Time and Method Studies were performed for Production and Machine Change Overs to be used for planning and costing purposes in the ERP System. Many recommendations were made with regard to the application of lean manufacturing and JIT principles.
